Wheeled Laptop Briefcase
1) Introduction Years ago, as payment for consulting services, I got an early NCR laptop. I have a very large briefcase to hold the thing. Since then I have been looking to grab a complete office in a single, easy-to-pocket. Years ago, as payment for consulting services, I got an early NCR laptop. This is how I did it - with a few ideas on how you too. What I wanted to do, the Web and e-mail from almost anywhere was available. While I realize this is probably not to the Gobi desert, I did most of the places to where mobile phones have is work. I did not realize at the time, but I was in the "cloud", I found that I do more and more of my work in web-based applications. The main advantage is the ability to move from computer to computer without having files that bear with me. My friend Mike James has hammered the security in me over the years. If I access e-mail or file transfer, and it had to be sure. Information needed to be replaced if necessary, but at other times required files back and forth to be sure. Web access includes access to the G-Talk of Google and the ability to Web-based phone if I do not use, not yet. I wanted to be able to get in touch with the world of which machine I was to stay on. I try so hard to eliminate paper. The PC I have chosen has a touch screen, but I'm not used to the full. Documents I use are more and more into PDF, Word or even Google Doc format. I wanted to the point where I do not need to take notes with pen and ink away. I'm close, but as you see, there is a step further and I hope to go. I am a "sometimes" language and presentation, so I wanted access to PowerPoint, if necessary. I also wanted the ability to make Web presentations, even if I do not have access to laptops, CDs or USB sticks. Being a bit paranoid, I would like copies of copies of copies of important things. Some local, some offsite. This solution must be ways to store and provide access to remote files. What needs to be said? If you ever lost a hard drive, a CD lost or scratched portable hard drive or flash drives, you do not know the pain with a fuse. I decided I could afford for equipment that meets the criteria of the multi-functionality and mobility. There are several ways to do what I did with various devices, I'm just becomes the categories of devices and software that can work anywhere. UMPC is an abbreviation for Ultra Mobile PC and is extremely easy for any PC. On this subject, I could count my Palm Treo smartphone as a UMPC. It's about a small, easy to carry, that PC will work longer on battery operation. Since most of us crowded on a desktop or wheeled laptop briefcase PC all day, it does not make sense, one that does not require a separate, heavy wheels dead have to carry around?. Why a Windows Smartphone? Why not Symian, Palm or Blackberry? Mostly because I'm already comfortable with Windows, and no matter what you think of Microsoft, Windows and Windows Mobile "play well together. "Windows Mobile offers e-mail, Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as calendars, contacts, etc. And later you will see that I have received (free) software that allows me to eliminate most handwritten notes. The Treo is my "mobile computer" in many ways. It's a bit bulky, but the battery lasts long, and there are many drops. With a 4GB SD card (postage-sized card with 4 gigabytes of storage space) ins. . .
